My 5th! The beginning of finals week!
I thought I would offer some advice for how to study and get the good grades.
There are always the flash cards and stuff like that. But studies say that you the easiest way to remember something is if you can associate it with something else. Maybe make flash cards and play jeopardy with your friends. Something will happen and in the test youll remember it better.
Listen to music. Not music that you are going to sing along to and not study, but music that you like. Somehow this works!
If you have to stay up late dont drink too much of those energy drinks and coffee, youll end up crashing some time and you dont want it to be during your test!
The one thing however that ill give you more energy than coffee is an APPLE.
And its so much healthier for you too!

WILL and GRACE

I recently did a study for my mass comm class. I wanted to see if the people who watched Will and Grace had the same views on homosexuality and other themes of that nature. I found it very interesting to find that over 40% of the heterosexuals said that that did not agree with homosexuality and that it was a sin. Then why are they watching it! 50% of the homosexuals thought Will and Grace showed stereotypical gay characters while none of the lesbians thought that. It would be interesting to see what the gay men and ay women thought about the show.

How to Stop Drunk Driving

How would you stop your boyfriend from drunk driving?
Would you take his keys away or would you lock him indoors maybe even threaten to call the police.

Well a 33-year-old woman decided that crashinginto his truck would stop him.

According to pbpost.com this woman put her two kids inside her car and ent looking for her boyfriend. When She found him in a parkinglot she crashed right into him with the kids inside the car.

The woman is being held without bond, charged with aggravated battery and two counts of child abuse.

When you have a baby, there is that thing that parents seem to do. Count their fingers and their toes. When you get a pet, one probably doesnt think about it. But the Rock family were suprised to find a cat with four ears! The Rock family adopted the 2-year-old kitten when they saw men at a bar passing it around and making fun of it. The Rock family said that he acts just like anyother cat, very sweet and affectionate. You probably wont ever get to have a personal look however, for the family fears it could be kiddnapped...or catnapped.

Hve you ever seen Snakes on a Plane?

How many people said "That will never happen?"

Well it did!

In Melbourne, Australia four baby pythons escaped from sort of container/cage thing. Of course, when this was realized, all passengers had to exit the plane. The search ended up causing 2 missed scheduled flights.

There had been 12 snakes aboard the plane and once they landed they only had 8.

:Shiver: I dont like snakes!

sleep walking....running

One of the most embarrassing things I do:
When I fall asleep when Im with friends in any situation, and I wake up. I try to remain in conversation and it never ends up working out. For instance, I could have been asleep for half an hour wake up and say "Yeah I like Wendy's. I dont know wat they're talking about but apparently my brain doesnt care.
The most embarrassing thin this dog does when he's asleep:

What would you do if you were traveling along the road and everyone that was passing by was honking their horns at you?
Well, Jennifer McLogan, a reporter just waved back. What she didn't know was people were trying to tell her there was a cat on her satellite dish on top of her truck.
The police Detective who was holding the press conference believed it was an April fools joke, but indeed he was proven wrong.
Police officers helped get the cat down which fled as soon as it could.

Beep Beep

The best April Fools prank I was ever told.
It was in the 1970s in Lithia Springs, Georgia. It was a quiet day, which is an unusual atmosphere at Lithia Springs High School. Something had to be up.
The day went by without any huge pranks being pulled. There was the usual student on student pranks but there wasn't any evidence of any pranks on the faculty or staff.
That was until the principle waled out of the front office and into a parking lot where is car was no where to be found. After a long and confusing scavenger hunt it was found...in the school gym!
Students had actually taken apart the Principal's car and rebuilt it in the high school gym.

On February 19, 1999, Billy Jack Gaither, a thirty-nine-year-old gay man who worked at the Russell Athletics apparel company near Sylacauga, Alabama, was brutally beaten to death. His throat was cut, and his body was bludgeoned with an ax handle before being thrown on top of a pile of tires and set on fire. In the weeks following the killing, two men came forward Previewto police as the killers: Steven Mullins and Charles Monroe Butler. Butler, the younger of the two, came forward to police first. He described the night of the murder in great detail: how he had never heard of Billy Jack Gaither prior to the night of the killing; how his friend Steve Mullins found him at a bar playing pool and asked him to take a ride into the woods with himself and Billy Jack; how Billy Jack started "talking queer stuff" that set off a violent reaction in Butler; and then how he stood by as Mullins beat Billy Jack to death. In June of 1999, Steven Mullins pled guilty to capital murder; Butler stood trial and was found guilty of the same charge by a jury. In August of 1999, both Mullins and Butler were sentenced to life in prison without parole.

My best friend is Gay and if someone ever hurt him because of who he is....I dont know what I would do. Someone but it quite well when he said: The gay community is the only community in which our country has laws that discriminate a group of people. Every other law about groups of people are their to protect them.....

Good Cop vs No One

Something werid happened to me the other night. Maybe not werid but unpredictable. I threw a party for my boyfriend, William's 21st bday Sat night. I got a keg and my roommate made hunch punch. We were all having a great time when...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!!!!
...the cops.
I have never delt with cops for something I did before and I flipped out. I grabbed my roommates hand and we walked to the door. There was one cop. Which I found werid at first cause when something happens in statesboro they ALL have to come. He asked us to get our ID.
GREAT. My idea...looks NOTHING like me. As when I go to bars bouncers go and get their managers to look at my ID. (I have black hair in the pic). But he believed me. He told us he wasn't going to give us a ticket but to keep the noice down. So as he was writing our warning all the people in my apartment started getting LOUD. The cop finally came in and told them to be quiet for us. Everyone agreed and the cop gave us our IDs back.
BUT THEN....instead of leaving, he stood on our front porch with a group of us and began to tell us stories about being on the job. He just stood their making us laugh and having fun with us.
I would have to say a cop to do that in STATESBORO, who is from STATESBORO....would be considered unpredictable.

Lets go for a Swim

Japan is surround by ocean. One might think, wow you could go to the beach all the time. However temps dont usually go over 73*F. But there is a speacial beach that citizen of Japan love to visit. This beach ia 300 by 100 meters and its is indoors! In a large dome! Thats right this beach is in a dome that not only provides a ocean to swim in, but entertainment too.
Every 15 minutes or so a volcano inside this dome starts producing flames and the ocean starts to boil. Surfers and jet skiers show off their skills as they ride 3.5 metre waves! After the show, the ocean calms down and people are allowed to go play in the ocean again. For more information visit:

New Drink Coming Soon

Situation: You come in from work and your craving a soda. You know those days where water is just not going to cut it. Your taste buds are screaming at you to get a soda in your mouth. You open the fridge to get out a can of...what?

There are so many choices, Pepsi, coke, sprite and fanta. You also have your cherry coke, vanilla Pepsi you name it. You might be wondering, "What will they think of next?"

Well I have that answer.....

And the answer is cow-urine!!!!



Thats right! India is producing a cow-urine based soda to compete with pepsi and coke. Dont worry they say it will taste great, and there wont be a smell!

BONES

Lets talk about bones shall we?

According to many resources when we are born we have 300 bones in our body. But as we get older some of those bones conform together and when we reach an adult we are left with 206! That's just weird! Not to mention, did you know that you don't develop a knee cap until your between two and six years of age!

When I asked the question, what if we didn't have knee caps, I found that we would walk with straight legs...but that cant be true because I was defiantly walking at three!

Can somebody answer my questions?

CRAZY WOMAN

Your running late for the airport, maybe you forgot something in the lobby and had to turn back, but either way your late. You run into the airport to where your plan is suppose to take off to find that your plan is gone.


How would you react? I would say most people would be upset and try to find another plan to catch. Others might go over board and say a few words to a few people but would eventually. But I guess there are those people who would react like this...

What Are You Eating?

I remember when I was little my father had told me, "What's worse, biting into a apple and seeing a worm, or biting into an apple and only seeing half a worm?" I want to say he would say these things if I was complaining about something going wrong, he was trying to tell me, it could always be worse.





I'm sure Keith Pensyl
didn't think it could get worse when he bit into some Goobers and found not one, put several inch worms crawling out of the candy box onto his hand.

Dollar General in Springfield Fl has promised to look into it. And yes they have taken it off the shelves, with some encouragement from Pensyl.

All I can say to that is EWWWWW!

So the next time your having a bad day, just think, it could always be worse.

Prisoners Escape....Almost

Remember when we were in elementary school and we would participate in the three legged race? You know, the race where you and a partner would tie one of your legs with one of theirs. Then you would take off running against other team members hoping to be the winner. Question: Would you ever forget you had your legs tied up? Now this might be a little different, but two men from New Zealand apparently forgot they were in fact hand-cuff together.

As you saw the two men who were being sent to prison tried to make an escape from the court house and failed. Not only did they run into each other after being wrapped around a pole, they were peppered sprayed as well. One of the men's attorney said he was just scared about going to prison.

The Usual First Entry - What Am I Doing Here

My name is Ashley King and I am a 4th year at Georgia Southern University. I am a broadcasting major and a theatre minor.

So you might be asking why in the world would you want to come to my site and read what I have to say. Well, after this boring and usual introduction myself and this blog I will start to write about the "weird news" of this crazy planet we all live on. Ill write about all the crazy and just plain stupid things some of us "humans" do. You might chuckle at some, fall out of your chair laughing and crying, or you might actually feel some compassion for another person after you hear what they are going through.
